Most people associate acne with foods that cause acne
because after they eat a big cheesy greasy burger they have an
outbreak of acne. What is truly going on here is that the body
has to deal with all the junk we put in it and at times, it has
hard time dealing and eliminating all the junk. When we eat
foods that cause acne, or what we think causes acne we cause
inflammation in the body, which causes acne.
People often experience inflammation from foods
because they may have a mild allergy to the food, which causes
a reaction in our skin. When the skin reacts, it often gets dry
and itchy. We scratch and open the skin to bacteria from other
acne. The bacteria enter the scratch and poof a pimple
appears.
There have been studies on milk products as being a
food that causes acne. There is no solid correlation to milk
and acne, but you may find you are more sensitive to milk,
which causes inflammation in the body. And, if we have
inflammation in the body, we are more prone to skin
issues.
One suggestion if you suspect you are eating a food
that causes acne here’s a simple test to do at home, eliminate
the food from your diet for a week or two. If you find you
experience fewer breakouts, you may be allergic or sensitive to
the food. If this is the case, please check with your doctor to
determine if you are allergic to a food or not, so you can be
cautious in your eating creating a healthier
you.
